Riders Knee Pain
Explained...
When I first met Pippa, she had been diagnosed with Arthritis by the GP. The pain and inability to do simple everyday tasks were inhibiting her love for life, long walks, and hopes of returning to the saddle.
Working full-time and caring for her mum who was crippled with Arthritis, Pippa was reminded daily of what her future could look like if she didn’t take control.
You see many people are ‘diagnosed’ with a label but a condition such as Arthritis can only be confirmed by a scan.
Whether Pippa had arthritis or not, the management is the same. You need to improve your function. Create strength and stability within your muscles and ligaments to reduce the stress on the joints.
I designed a Bespoke Program for Pippa and over the weeks and months, we gradually increased the demand, focusing on improving functional movement.
It wasn’t long before Pippa was able to get up from the floor without hauling herself up. Standing from sitting, climbing stairs and long walks were all pain-free!
It was life-changing!

I was experiencing a lot of pain in my knee and it was beginning to stop me from doing the things I wanted. The GP asked me about my symptoms and diagnosed arthritis without getting any scans. This was worrying for me – my mum is disabled by arthritis in her knees. I was recommended to speak to Clare at RiderCise.
Clare designed a program of exercises to build my strength and put me in touch with a sports therapist for soft tissue massage. The pain in the knee is a thing of the past. I’m fitter now than I have been for years, and I’m no longer stopped from doing anything I want.
Thank you, Clare.
